Bakra Eid Festival

Bakra Eid, also known as Eid al-Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice, is an important religious festival celebrated by Muslims worldwide. It commemorates the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God's command. However, just as Ibrahim was about to sacrifice his son, God provided a lamb to be sacrificed instead. The festival is observed on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the twelfth and final month of the Islamic lunar calendar. The exact date may vary each year as it is determined by the sighting of the moon. During Bakra Eid, Muslims traditionally sacrifice animals such as goats, sheep, cows, or camels to reenact Ibrahim's act of devotion. The sacrificed animal must meet certain criteria, including being of a certain age and in good health.
